Onyeme Presents Cheques To 218 Beneficiaries of His Scholarship Award.
The Chairman, Monday Onyeme’s Foundation Sir Monday Onyeme presented over Twenty Two Million Naira Scholarship to 218 Undergraduates across Ndokwa Nation.
Speaking today Saturday during the Presentation Ceremony at Utagba-Ogbe Grammar School, Kwale, Onyeme expressed happiness and joy over the presence of dignitaries who out of their tight schedule decided to honour the invitation.
He said the Monday Onyeme’s Annual Scholarship is aimed at Supporting the educational growth and boosting the academic performance of Undergraduates across Ndokwa Nation adding that the Selection of the beneficiaries was based on a transparent process via those with the highest score at the conducted aptitude test.
While Congratulating the beneficiaries for coming out successful, he urged them to take their studies very seriously in other for them to come out with flying colours at the end of their academic pursuits as well as to desist from all forms of anti-social behaviours including cultism in other for them not to truncate their academic dreams.
Onyeme who gave the historic view of the Monday Onyeme’s Annual Scholarship Programme promised not to derail in his Annual Scholarship Programme, hence, will continue to support the educational pursuits of Students across Ndokwa Nation.
The 218 beneficiaries took home One Hundred Thousand Naira each while the two overall best students gets additional Seventy Five Thousand Naira each and the three Second overall best gets Fifty Thousand Naira each.
Earlier, the Delta North PDP Chairman who happens to be the Chairman of the Occasion, Mr Moses Iduh who lauded the efforts and contributions of Sir Monday Onyeme through the Monday Onyeme’s Foundation called on well meaning Deltans to emulate the good gesture of Sir Monday Onyeme.
The Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning Hon. Dr. Barry Pere Gbe commended Sir Monday Onyeme for impacting on the lives of the People adding that the Onyeme’s Scholarship is to Complement Gov Okowa’s efforts in boosting the educational growth of Students across the state.
In the same development, the Honourable Commissioner for Secondary Education Mrs. Rose Ezewu who was ably represented by the Director of Secondary School, Mrs Ufuoma Ojumah thanked Sir Monday John Onyeme for all he has done for the people, she urged the Students to take seriously their studies and see this Scholarship Award as a means to boost their educational performance adding that the Scholarship support through the Monday Onyeme’s Foundation will no doubt reduce the numbers of school dropout.
The Delta State People’s Democratic Party PDP Secretary Hon Dan Ossai, the Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government Council, Hon (Barr) Ajede Possible, others in their Seperate remark commended Sir Monday John Onyeme for standing as a pillar behind the educational growth of Students across Ndokwa Nation as they were urged to focus and be serious with their studies.
Climax of the occasion was the symbolic presentation of the Cheques to the 218 beneficiaries, recognising the overall best Undergraduates, group photography and a Poet recitation dedicated to Sir Monday Onyeme.
